Every year during the last weekend in August a traditional Wine fair is organized in Jelsa. The best wines from Hvar are on display as well as a variety of local gastronomic specialties.

Hotels provide music for dancing, games and shows. There is a discotheque in the center of Jelsa. The squares and the local open-air cinema serve as a stage for contemporary music concerts as well as sacral and secular music concerts of “klape”, groups of autochthonous a cappella singers.
